On May 30, California College of Music hosted seminars taught by master guitarist Stanley Jordan. The small group workshops were entitled “Keys for Optimal Music Learning” and Stanley spent hours with his students working with them on improving their practice routines.
Stanley Jordan is well-known for his “tapping” technique on guitar- his unique ability to play the guitar like a piano. He attributes his success with playing in this style to the attention he gives to his practice routines. The methods he uses help him optimize how much he learns in each practice session. Now he is passing this knowledge on to the next generation of players, not only guitarists but musicians of any instrument, at all levels of playing ability. Stanley's students walked away with skills to help them improve their playing quickly, and the experience of being taught by one of the world's best guitar players.
“He's a genius!” one student commented. “He gave us so much valuable information. I just wish I could take this class every week, I would be a better player than Stanley!”
