Alexa Brinkschulte was born in Bremen, Germany, and started playing the drums at the age of 17. In the summer of 1999, Alexa was featured on German national television and in local newspapers as a young drummer with extraordinary talent. Shortly after, she moved to the United States to pursue her music education, attending both Los Angeles Music Academy and Berklee College of Music.
While at Berklee, she did a number of performances for legendary events, including one for the United Nations Ceremony at the Boston State House.
Alexa now holds a BA in Professional Music, and has chosen to stay in Los Angeles to pursue her professional career. She has performed, recorded, and toured with the alternative rock band Kubist Hall as well as with the theatrical performance group MASSensemble, an musical troupe which features dancers and one-of-a-kind musical instruments. Currently, Alexa is performing and touring with singer-songwriter Sacha Sacket, who is signed to Golden Sphinx Records.
Alexa also works as a freelance drummer, performing and recording for several bands in and around Los Angeles. She has been teaching drums independently for the past 3 years, and in early 2008 she joined the teaching staff at California College of Music.
