Teaching Philosophy

"My teaching style has always been focused on the practical application of lesson materials to the student's "real world" musical environment. This involves attention to the specific challenges that each student faces and the general body of knowledge and technical skill that every musician is required to master to succeed in the music industry. I always strive to inculcate the triumvirate of: discipline in acquisition of technical skill, dedication to the art of music and the commensurate commitment to the work needed to master the art of musical performance, and diversity of style and technique that assures that the working musician will be able to adapt and thrive in a constantly changing musical milieu."
