Daniel is a singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist who has given performance tours to audiences of thousands across the United States, Japan, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Canada, and the United Kingdom with the rock bands Ozma, the Elected, and the Gowns. Bass Player Magazine presented a feature article on him in June of 2003. He has scored multiple short films and recorded and performed on over a dozen albums for record labels such as Sub Pop, Kung Fu, and Sony BMG. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition from UCLA. Daniel's rigorous university training emphasized music theory, piano performance, voice, film scoring, electronic music, folk music of various cultures including Mexico and Indonesia, and jazz guitar studies with Kenny Burrell. An alumnus of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Daniel spent his high school years studying composition, jazz guitar, and voice, and was a member of the LACHSA Vocal Jazz Ensemble, winning recognition at the Monterey Jazz Festival. He has been awarded the California Arts Scholar medal and attended the California State Summer School for the Arts at the California Institute of the Arts twice (1996, 1997). Born and raised in Pasadena, Daniel is a committed educator seeking to give back to his local community through musical understanding, appreciation and performance. He has taught bass, guitar, piano, voice, composition, theory, math, and English, and also enjoys working with special needs students.
