Ingo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies and Composition from Loyola University in New Orleans as well as a Masters of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts in African American Improvisational Music. He studied drums with Johnny Vidacovich and composition with James Walsh, Vinny Golia and Wadada Leo Smith. He was a professional sideman in Europe for more than ten years before moving to the United States where he became active both the New Orleans and Los Angeles music industries. His music shows influences from various world music traditions including jazz and avant-garde, as well as more abstract interdisciplinary influences related to the Visual Arts. Ingo is a member of the gamelan orchestra Burat Wangi. He co-founded the New Orleans New Music Ensemble (NONME), a chamber orchestra dedicated to the performance of contemporary classical music, as well as the nine piece avant-garde group The Sound for the Organization of Society. He is also a founding member of the Improvising Composers United (ICU), a non-profit organization interested in fostering a pan-disciplinary approach to improvisation and composition.
