Bio

Mark is an American composer. He has arranged and composed music since the 1970s. He received his Bachelor of Arts at California State University, and has performed and taught for 37 years. He has numerous TV/film and multimedia credits, including "Lost in Hollywood," "Eye on Hollywood" (ABC), "CBS Storybreak", and "KCET Videolog" (PBS). Mark has also released two solo albums: "The Art of Space", and "Music of the Domes." His music is self-described as "futuristic" and is of an ambient and electronic style. He has several album releases under his own record label, Blue Chromium Records.

Teaching Philosophy

Mark is flexible in his approach to teaching, tailoring the instruction program to the student and resolving any areas of musical difficulty so that the lessons can be enjoyable and beneficial. He emphasizes mastering the basics while developing skills in areas the student is most interested in. With adults who want to play professionally or for pleasure, a personal study program is devised that meets each student's needs and desires. Because of its influence on improving technique and increasing understanding of music, classical music may also be taught in varying degrees, depending on the interest of the student.
