FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (F.A.Q.)
Q: How do I apply to CCM?
A: Begin with our simple online application for domestic students or international students!
Q: How do I get a visa?
A: The visa process for each country is unique, but CCM staff will be happy to assist any international student who wishes to apply. First, you must send in CCM's international student application and the $150 application fee, along with photocopies of your passport, high school diploma or equivalent, and a recent bank statement (to show that you have money to attend classes internationally without having to work while enrolled at CCM). We will then issue you an I-20 form, which you may then take to your country's American embassy to officially apply for your visa.
Q: Do I have to audition to be accepted at CCM? (How good do I have to be?)
A: The California College of Music is unique in that we accept students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced musicians. No applicant will be denied based on lack of musical ability. We request that applicants to the Music program take a placement exam, so that we can effectively place each student in classes at their current skill level. We request that applicants to the Artist Development major either submit a demo CD or audition in person, simply for placement purposes. There are no prerequisites or placement tests for applicants to the Engineering and Production major.
Q: How much will it cost to attend CCM?
A: Fees vary depending on which program you choose to enroll in. Please see our complete fee schedule.
