ARTIST DEVELOPMENT MAJOR

The Artist Development major is for advanced performers who are ready to take their professional music career to the highest level possible. Our program not only educates the student about all aspects of the music business, but also places the students into every type of musical setting that they will need to master in order to succeed as a professional musician in today's rapidly changing industry. For example, each student's exciting curriculum includes Electronic Fusion Ensemble, where vocalists and musicians are placed alongside MIDI programmers and DJs in contemporary genre-blending performance. Artist Development majors also take our Studio Session course, where they learn the skills of today's versatile recording session musician, recording their own professional demo along the way.

An artist development program tailored for you

The Artist Development major also includes classroom instruction on the essential elements of the music industry. We have provided a list below of some of the additional topics that are presented in the Music Business course:

    • Music Business / Music Industry Structure
    • Music Publishing
    • Legalities of the Music Industry
    • Surviving the Digital Revolution
